This master’s in management is designed for individuals with no or limited work experience who want to launch or advance a business-focused career. You may be a strong fit if you work in roles such as project coordination, analyst support, administrative positions, customer experience, junior HR roles, technical support or early-stage roles in marketing, finance or data/IT where business skills support advancement.

No work experience is required, but you should be ready for a full graduate-level course load. The program is not an MBA, but an early-career management degree or for those without a business background. Admission to this program does not guarantee admission to the W. P. Carey MBA program.

While both programs emphasize innovation, the Master of Public Health (Public Health Technology) provides a more in-depth foundation in public health principles, making it an excellent choice if you’re pursuing a long-term career in health leadership or preparing for further study in medicine or public health.

The School of Technology for Public Health within ASU Health offers two distinct programs in this field. Both programs are seeking students with broad backgrounds in health, communication, computer science, engineering and GIS who want to apply their unique skills in public health, so they can make meaningful impact at scale. The programs are: 

• Master of Science in public health technology: This one-year program is designed for students from all backgrounds who want to gain technical expertise to apply to public health challenges. Clinicians, aspiring physicians, or anyone seeking a broader view of how technology and health policy influence population well-being are encouraged to apply. If you have technical expertise and are interested in supporting public health, then this program can help you gain a foundation in health systems and the tools needed to address social and health issues using innovative technologies.
• Master of Public Health (Public Health Technology): This intensive, two-year program is ideal for students who want to deepen their understanding of public and population health, epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, health policy and the broader health ecosystem. This program combines foundational public health learnings for those interested in becoming a public health practitioner with a deep understanding of how emerging technologies can support population health outcomes. 

While both degrees prepare you to improve health outcomes through technology, this Master of Science program has an emphasis on technical and design-based solutions, and the Master of Public Health emphasizes public health practice, research and policy.

This MLS program offers a broad understanding of the law, including legal concepts, analysis and writing. You’ll gain foundational insight that helps you connect legal knowledge to your current or future work with Native communities and governments.

With the central role tribes play in land management, economic development, health care and cultural preservation in the U.S., demand is growing for nonlawyer professionals who understand this legal framework. This program equips you to make ethical, effective and legally sound decisions when engaging with Native communities or in fields connected to tribal interests.

Courses build a foundation in legal principles related to economic development, gaming operations, jurisdictional authority, land rights, resource management, self-governance and tribal sovereignty. What is a degree emphasis? Is it the same as a concentration?

A degree program emphasis is similar to a concentration, but there are key differences.

• A concentration is a formalized selection of courses within a major. It requires a minimum of 15 credit hours, with at least nine upper-division credit hours. Your concentration appears on both your ASU diploma and transcripts.
• An emphasis is a selected topic area within the major. It’s typically 9–12 credit hours and doesn’t need to be officially declared. The emphasis will not appear on your diploma or transcripts.
