In your studies, you’ll complete the Ocean Futures Workshop where you can focus on your area of interest, whether its marine biology, oceanography, resource management and more. In this AACSB-accredited program, you’ll build advanced knowledge in accounting and auditing, with an additional focus on data analytics. Through your coursework, you’ll also gain proficiency in the technologies and methodologies used in audits.

Additionally, you’ll expand your critical thinking and analytical skills as you explore topics such as statistics and coding for accounting analytics, performance measurement and more. Enhance your learning experience with synchronous courses

This program is designed with lecture- and case-study-based learning opportunities and emphasizes practical application through projects. Every course will consist of live, virtual participation for at least 50% of the time, creating opportunities for you to interact with faculty and your peers.

When applying to this program, you should ensure you have the time needed to attend virtual sessions at designated meeting times. If you choose the one-year program, you’ll have live course sessions twice a week. If you select the two-year option, you’ll attend one live session a week. Outside of scheduled sessions, you can complete course activities on your own time.

Does this MACC fulfill CPA requirements?

The CPA designation isn’t critical for all accounting career paths, but becoming a CPA could be advantageous in the accounting profession. CPA requirements are set by each state, and all states require a minimum total of 150 credit hours. Students are encouraged to review the requirements of the state(s) in which they intend to seek a CPA license. Each state has a board of accountancy that can provide this information. What is a degree emphasis? Is it the same as a concentration?

While an emphasis and concentration are similar, there are key differences.

• A concentration is a formalized selection of courses within a major requiring a minimum of 15 credit hours; at least nine must be upper division. The concentration appears on your ASU diploma and transcripts.
• An emphasis is a selected topic area defined within the major that’s typically 9–12 credit hours and doesn’t need to be officially declared.
