First-year applicants who meet the requirements for ASU first-year student admission are eligible for direct admission to the W. P. Carey School of Business Bachelor of Arts degree program. To be admitted to ASU, you must be a high school graduate and meet one of the following criteria:

If you are a transfer student applying to the W. P. Carey School of Business Bachelor of Arts degree program, you are eligible for direct admission if you have met the following requirements:

An ASU Academic Integrity violation may preclude a student from entering or changing W. P. Carey academic programs.

• An SAT Reasoning score of 1120* (March 2016 and after) or 1040* (prior to March 2016) for residents
• An SAT Reasoning score of 1180* (March 2016 and after) or 1110* (prior to March 2016) for nonresidents
• ACT 22 (24 nonresidents)*
• A high school class ranking in the top 25 percent
• An overall, unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 in competency courses defined by ASU (4.0 = A)
  • ASU transfer student admission requirements
  • 3.0 cumulative ASU GPA (if you have attended ASU)
  • 3.0 cumulative transfer GPA (if you have attended another institution)
  • Minimum grade requirements must be met for all critical tracking courses taken (applicable only if student falls under critical tracking requirements)

• An SAT Reasoning score of 1180* (March 2016 and after) or 1110* (prior to March 2016) for nonresidents.
• An ACT composite score of 22 (24 for nonresidents)*.
• A high school class ranking in the top 25%.
• An overall, unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 in competency courses defined by ASU (4.00 = A).

If you’re a transfer student applying to the W. P. Carey School of Business Bachelor of Arts degree program, you’re eligible for direct admission if you’ve met the following requirements:

• 3.00 cumulative ASU GPA (if you’ve attended ASU)
• 3.00 cumulative transfer GPA (if you’ve attended another institution)
• Achieving minimum grade requirements for all critical tracking courses taken (applicable only if the student falls under critical tracking requirements)

If you don’t meet the first-year student or transfer student requirements, you can pursue admission into the W. P. Carey School of Business via Earned Admission. Students who have met the following requirements will be eligible for admission into the school:

• Have completed 24 credit hours at ASU.
• Have a 2.75 cumulative ASU GPA.
• Have completed and passed CIS 105, MAT 210, ACC 231 and ECN 211 or 212.

*General university admission is guaranteed upon successful completion of the following conditions: 1. Completion of an associate degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution with a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA (Arizona residents) or 2.50 cumulative GPA (non-Arizona residents) or 2. Completion of 24 or more transferable semester credits post-high school with a minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 2.50 (“A” = 4.00) and verification of high school graduation or the equivalent.

Note: Some ASU colleges and schools have additional or higher requirements for admission into their majors. Students will also need to submit an ASU admission application, including an application fee and other required documents, such as official college/university transcripts. MyPath2ASU™ pathway programs include a minimum of 24 credit hours. Students with fewer than 24 credit transfer credit hours will need to meet the appropriate admission requirements.

Request to have your transcripts sent directly to ASU from each educational institution you attended. Official transcripts must be mailed directly to Admission Services by the records office of the issuing institution. Official transcripts delivered by hand will be accepted only if they are sealed in the original envelope provided by the community college or university and bear the university seal and the signature of the registrar of the issuing institution. If sending electronically:

Transcripts sent via email may be accepted if sent directly from an authorized school official at the issuing institution, or from a third-party verified source, to ASU at [email protected].

You may also use services such as Parchment, eSCRIP or National Clearinghouse to send electronic transcripts. Choose Arizona State University on the request form to make a request for your institution to send us your official transcripts.
