Health care simulation education centers around using patient care manikins (or patient simulators), models and standardized patients (or simulated participants) to replicate real interactions. Pursue a Master of Science in health care simulation online to play an integral role in crafting learning experiences for educating clinical professionals. In this program, you’ll gain knowledge about using simulated participants and environments to replicate real scenarios. You’ll also learn about assessment and debriefing practices, as well as simulation program operations. Upon graduation, you’ll be equipped to lead in simulation-related roles across academic and practice settings.
Your courses will explore the methodologies, design and delivery of simulation-based learning in health care. You’ll build foundational knowledge in evidence-based practice, operations management in health care, teaching and learning theories, educational assessment and more. Additionally, you’ll choose two electives, allowing you to delve deeper into topics such as health care innovation, patient safety and health informatics technology. To culminate the program, you’ll complete an applied project that demonstrates your abilities.

Applicants to the Master of Science in health care simulation must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.
Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in the last 60 hours of their bachelor's program. Alternatively, applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in an applicable master's program.
