Applicants to the graduate certificate in clinical molecular diagnostics must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the College of Health Solutions.
Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in the last 60 hours of their bachelor's program. Alternatively, applicants must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in an applicable master's program.
All applicants must submit:
- Graduate admission application and application fee
- Official transcripts
- Personal statement
- One letter of recommendation
- Optional: Up-to-date curriculum vitae or resume
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related field, as well as foundational knowledge in laboratory science. Prior coursework must include:
- Cell biology
- Genetics
- Microbiology
- Organic chemistry or biochemistry
- An applicant whose native language is not English (regardless of current residency) must provide proof of English proficiency.
- GRE, GMAT or other test scores are not required for admission.
- Applicants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to have current employment in a laboratory setting where they may complete the required, in-person practicum. Students are responsible for finding the practicum site and are encouraged to connect with their college advisor early for more information about the practicum site supervisor and clinical laboratory site qualifications.
