Will I become a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with this degree?

No, earning this project management degree does not result in a PMP certification. However, upon completion of the project-management-specific coursework, you'll have the 23 education hours required to sit for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credential and the 35 hours of education required to sit for the PMP certification exam.

Additionally, with 36 months of practical experience hours logged in your applied project, you’ll be one step closer to meeting the requirements to sit for the PMP certification exam. Holding both a bachelor’s in project management and PMP certification is the gold standard for companies and organizations filling project-related positions.

Social media managers operate in fast-paced environments where they balance strategy with real-time communication. They’re also responsible for ensuring messages reflect the cultural, social and economic values of the communities they serve.

Taught through a technical communication lens, this program trains you to create content about, for and through digital technology. You’ll focus on writing for specific audiences, managing design projects and supporting ethical, accessible communication across platforms.

This is not a journalism degree focused on news production. If you’re more interested in media theory and analysis, the Bachelor of Arts in mass communication and media studies may be a better fit.

In this program, you’ll explore an integrative approach to managing risk and building resilience in the face of natural and human-caused disasters. You can pursue a variety of roles in disaster response and preparedness, ranging from an emergency preparedness specialist in a public health agency to an analyst in corporate global security operations. If you hold a role as a first responder, nonprofit worker or government employee, earning a bachelor’s in homeland security and emergency management can also boost your upward mobility.
