Religion is a fundamental part of the human experience. It informs and shapes politics, literature, philosophy, art and science as well as the daily life of millions around the globe. An understanding of religious traditions is critical to understanding our shared past and present and navigating toward our shared future.
Students pursuing the minor in religious studies from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences engage in a comparative, cross-cultural exploration of religions and cultures. The program complements a variety of undergraduate majors while promoting a deeper understanding of human nature and interaction.
You may pursue the minor in religious studies with regional, national, hemispheric, global and a variety of thematic emphases. Religious studies students will find many opportunities for practical experience leading to careers in the academic study of religion, public service, governmental and non-governmental agencies.
